This video is the story of the moment where I took my first step into my freedom and liberated myself from the system to walk in my purpose. I was working for a private white institution while also going through a very challenging time personally. I found myself navigating through a dark time of overcoming systematic oppression and moving into my purpose as a creative entrepreneur. Once I graduated with my masters degree I decided it was time to live my life and I quit my job at the univeristy. I bought a one way ticket to Sudan and traveled overseas to multiple countries in East Africa and the Middle East for several months to discover myself through exploring my roots and culture. Through connecting with a valuable community, surrounding myself with light and realizing my dreams were mine to size, I was able to find my freedom.
